craft Stainless steel sculpture
For as long as I can remember I have been drawing, painting, or in some way creating things.
With my sculpture I enjoy the challenge of taking hard, unyielding
steel and turning it into flowing shapes.
Of late, there have been two themes running through all of my work: a
ribbon effect and strong S-curves.Whether it is a horse, a dragon or a
psinting of koi, the ribbons and curves are always there.
Currently I do most my work in stainless steel. There are pieces of
stainless flatware in most of my sculpture. The sheet material is cut
with a plasma torch. Pieces are buffed and polished before assembly.
The work is welded with a TIB or a MIG torch. Bases are usually granite
or marble. At times wood components are added to give the piece
additional flair.
I hope you enjoy my work.
